Day 1: Arrival – Serval Wildlife Sanctuary – Arusha

Distance:

  • Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) to Serval Wildlife Sanctuary: 60 km (1.5 hours)
  • Serval Wildlife Sanctuary to Arusha: 60 km (1.5 hours)

Itinerary Details:

  • Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be welcomed by
    your safari guide.
  • Drive to Serval Wildlife Sanctuary, a private reserve offering a unique opportunity to
    interact with semi-wild animals, including giraffes, zebras, elands, and impalas. You’ll
    have the chance to hand-feed some animals, making for an unforgettable experience.
  • Later, drive to Arusha for relaxation at Gran Meliá Arusha, a luxury hotel offering
    stunning views of Mount Meru.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Distance: Arusha to Tarangire National Park: 120 km (2 hours)

  • After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its vast elephant herds
    and ancient baobab trees.
  • Enjoy a full-day game drive exploring the park’s varied landscapes, from savannah
    plains to riverine woodlands. The Tarangire River acts as a vital water source,
    attracting a large concentration of animals.
  • In the afternoon, continue your game drive, spotting lions, leopards, cheetahs, and
    diverse birdlife.
  • Late afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge or Farm of Dreams in Karatu

Day 3: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

wildlife viewing)

  • Depart early for Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife
    reserves.
  • En route, pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you might spot
    Maasai herders grazing their cattle.
  • Upon arrival in Serengeti, enjoy an afternoon game drive, exploring the endless
    plains teeming with wildlife.
  • Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, where millions of
    wildebeest and zebras cross the plains in search of fresh grazing.
  • Evening relaxation at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, offering spectacular sunset
    views over the savannah.

  • Enjoy breakfast in the bush or at the lodge before continuing with game viewing.
  • After lunch, begin the journey back to Karatu, enjoying wildlife sightings along the way.
  • Arrive in Karatu by late afternoon for an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge
    or Farm of Dreams.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Arusha Airport – Flight to Zanzibar

Distance:

  • Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater: 20 km (30 minutes)
  • Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Airport: 190 km (3.5-4 hours)

Itinerary Details:

  • Early morning drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and
    one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders.
  • Descend 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is
    home to a dense concentration of wildlife, including the rare black rhino.
  • Expect to see large lion prides, hippos, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and
    flamingos around the soda lakes.
  • After the game drive, enjoy a scenic picnic lunch near a hippo pool.
  • In the afternoon, drive to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar, marking the end
    of your safari adventure.
